External Broadcast

Learn how to use External Broadcast to connect your preferred streaming tool and broadcast your Live Session through Terrific.

Want to go live using your own streaming setup instead of your browser's camera? With External Broadcast, you can connect tools like OBS, Streamlabs, or any professional hardware encoder to your Terrific Live Session, giving you full control over your content, camera, and viewing experience.

Before you start, make sure you have:

  • A Live Session already created in Terrific

  • Streaming software (like OBS) or hardware that supports live streaming

Step 1. Turn on External Broadcast

  1. Open your Live Session

  2. Find the External Broadcast section

  3. Toggle it on

You'll instantly see two pieces of information you'll need in the next step:

  • Server URL

  • Stream Key

Step 2. Connect your streaming tool

Head over to your streaming software or hardware and:

  1. Open the streaming settings

  2. Find the section for live streaming or RTMP connection

  3. Paste in the Server URL and Stream Key from Terrific

  4. Save your changes

Not sure where to paste them? Check your tool's documentation: most apps have a dedicated "Stream" or "Output" settings section.

Step 3. Go live!

  1. Make sure your camera, mic, and any content you want to share are ready

  2. Hit Start Streaming from your broadcasting tool

  3. Give it a few seconds to connect

Once Terrific picks up the signal, you're connected but your audience can't see you yet. When you're ready to let viewers in, click Go Live in Terrific:
