External Broadcast allows you to stream your Live Session using external broadcasting software or hardware instead of your browser's built-in camera. This gives you more flexibility to manage your broadcast, share content, and create a more customized viewing experience.
Before You Begin
Make sure you have:
A Live Session created
Broadcasting software or hardware that supports live streaming
Enable External Broadcast
Open your Live Session
Locate the External Broadcast section
Turn the option on
Once enabled, you will see the connection details required to connect your broadcasting tool:
Server URL
Stream Key
Configure Your Broadcasting Tool
In your broadcasting software or hardware:
Open the streaming settings
Locate the section where live streaming connection details are configured
Copy and paste the information provided by the Live Session:
Server URL
Stream Key
Save your changes
If you are unsure where to enter this information, refer to your broadcasting tool's documentation.
Start Streaming
Verify that your camera, microphone, and content are set up correctly
Start the stream from your broadcasting tool
Wait a few moments while the connection is established
Once connected, your Live Session will begin receiving the video and audio signal from your broadcasting tool.
At this point, your broadcast is connected to Terrific but is not yet live for viewers. When you are ready to begin, click Go Live in Terrific to start your Live Session.
Best Practices
Perform a test stream before every event
Keep your Stream Key private
Do not close your broadcasting tool while your event is active
Use a stable internet connection for the best experience
