Ready to go live? The Host View is your command center for running a live session: camera, chat, products, polls, and analytics, all in one screen. This guide walks you through everything, from opening your session to reviewing how it went, so you feel confident before you hit that GO LIVE button on your phone.
Open the invitation link you received by email to join as a Host:
For mobile devices, Your Host View packs everything into one vertical screen, so you can go live straight from your phone:
1. Name and avatar. That's you! Your name and avatar show up here so viewers know who's hosting.
2. Viewer count. Keep an eye on how many people are tuning in, live and in real time.
3. AI Suggestions. A little AI assist for you while you interact with your audience. Not your thing? You can turn it off anytime from the Settings section.
4. Items. Tap here to pull up the full list of products added to your session.
5. Gear icon/Settings. Your shortcut to Polls, Analytics, Videos, and Settings, all tucked into one menu so you can jump between them without leaving your camera view.
6. Share. Tap to grab your session link and share it wherever you'd like.
7. Switch camera. Need a different angle? Tap here to flip between your front and back camera.
8. GO LIVE button. When you're ready, tap this button to start your session. The moment you tap it, you're broadcasting, so make sure everything looks and sounds good beforehand. If you'd like a little extra time to prepare, ask your Terrific contact to enable the 30-second countdown before your Live Session starts.
9. Chat. This is where all the messages from your audience roll in during the Live Session.
10. Don't miss out. A little notification card that pops up on its own to spotlight a few products from your list, it comes and goes throughout the session.
Items
Tap the Items icon to slide up your product list without ever leaving your camera view. You'll see every product added for the session, complete with photo, name, and price.
Found the one you want to spotlight? Tap SHOW ITEM to push that product into the spotlight on every viewer's screen. Swipe through the list anytime to switch things up as your session goes on.
Tap SHOW ITEM on any product to open its details. From there, you can click FEATURE ITEM to put it front and center on every viewer's screen, or hit SHARE if you just want to send the product link without featuring it.
Heads up: you can feature up to 3 products at the same time.
Polls
Got some polls set up for this session? Tap the Gear icon/Settings to see them.
Tap the metrics icon if you have more than one poll and pick whichever one fits the moment, then tap Activate Poll to send it straight to your viewers' screens. And you're not the only one who can do this: anyone with admin permissions on your team can activate a poll too, so don't worry if you need a hand while you're focused on camera.
Analytics
Curious how you're doing? Tap the Analytics tab any time; even before you go live. Use the dropdown to filter by Upcoming, Live, Post-session, or Total, depending on what you want to see:
You'll find live-updating cards covering things like open carts, clicks to checkout, likes, shares, and your peak viewer count: each with a little info icon if you want more detail on what it means. Below that, a chart tracks your viewers' journey from browsing to checking out, so you can spot if people are adding things to their cart but not finishing checkout (that's your cue to re-feature a product, offer a little incentive, or just check back in with your chat).
Videos
If your team preloaded any video clips for this session, you'll find them under the Videos tab:
Just tap the play button to start playing the video. Heads up: videos will only play once you're actually live: think of it as the platform's way of keeping things feeling real and in-the-moment for your viewers.
Settings
Everything in the Settings tab takes effect right away, so feel free to tweak as you go:
A) Camera & Mic. You can switch your camera or microphone. If you're already alive, you will need to confirm this action before proceeding:
B) AI Suggestions. Turn on or off.
C) Mirror host. Toggle whether your own camera preview is mirrored (handy to turn off if you're showing text on screen).
D) External Broadcast. If you'd rather stream from OBS, StreamLabs or another encoder, External Broadcast has you covered. If you turn it on, it will share the keys that you need to add in the stream platform:
Heads up: only works before the session goes live, or while it's paused.
E) Multi-Platform Streaming. If you want your session to also show up on Instagram, Facebook, or YouTube at the same time, Multi-Platform Streaming lets you add your stream keys and go live everywhere at once (just know that chat, products, polls, and other interactive bits will still only work on your Terrific session page):
Chat
You'll get two handy options:
1. Pin a message to the top of the message bar, so everyone sees it. Just tap the pin icon on the message:
2. Reply directly to that viewer. Just tap over the message and the reply icon will appear:
Your reply will be shown under the comment:
Wrapping up
When you're ready to finish, tap the pause button. A pop-up will be shown asking if you want END SESSION or PAUSE:
Tap END SESSION and then confirm:
This stops your broadcast and turns your session into a replay: viewers can still watch the recording and browse your products afterward, so nothing goes to waste. Head back to Analytics any time afterward to review the full picture of how your session performed.
Hosting live gets easier every time you do it: soon enough, checking your camera, chatting with viewers, and featuring products will feel like second nature. So take a breath, hit GO LIVE, and have fun with it. Your audience is there because they want to see you!
