Marketing Checklist for Your Live Event

To help ensure you get the most eyes on your event and drive maximum engagement and sales

A live shopping event is a big moment and the difference between a packed session and an empty room often comes down to how well you promoted it. Use this checklist to build hype before, keep the energy up during, and squeeze every drop of value after your event.

🗓️ 7 days out. Light the spark

  • Social teaser. Post a short, curiosity-driven teaser on your main channels. Don't reveal everything, a "something big is coming" vibe works great. Reels and TikToks perform especially well here.

  • Email teaser. Hit your list with a sneak peek. Keep it short: one image, one line of copy, one CTA. You're not selling the event yet: you're getting them curious.

🗓️ 6 days out. Share the details

  • Email + SMS. Now give your audience the full picture: date, time, what they'll see, and any exclusive drops or offers. SMS has a dramatically higher open rate than email, so use both.

  • Social info post. A clear, on-brand post with all the key info (time, date, what to expect). Pin it to your profile if the platform allows it.

💡 Pro tip: Add your Terrific session link to your link-in-bio and mention it in every post from now until the event.

🗓️ 5 days out. Amplify

  • Stories. Stories keep your event top-of-mind without cluttering the feed. Use countdown stickers, polls ("Are you joining?"), or behind-the-scenes peeks to drive engagement.

  • Paid ads. Launch your paid campaign now, give the algorithm time to optimize before the event. Retarget your website visitors and email list for best results. UTM links are your friend here.

🗓️ 4–2 days out. Keep the momentum

  • CRM campaigns. Segment your audience and send targeted reminders: loyal buyers get a different message than cold leads. Highlight what makes this event worth showing up to.

  • Feed posts. Keep posting. Share the "why attend" angle: exclusive products, limited-time offers, live Q&A with the host, or anything that creates urgency or FOMO.

🗓️ 1 day out. Final push

  • CRM + paid boost: Send a "tomorrow's the day" email and SMS. Keep it punchy: one sentence, one link. On the paid side, increase your budget slightly to capture last-minute interest.

  • Reminder Alert: If you haven't already, activate the Reminder Alert on your Terrific session so viewers can opt in to get notified right before you go live.

🔴 Day of. Go live

  • SMS blast. Send a "we're starting soon" SMS 30–60 minutes before going live. People are busy: a direct text gets attention.

  • Live updates. Post on your channels as you go live with a direct link to your session. Stories and posts with "we're LIVE now" drive real-time traffic.

  • Branded content. Share co-branded content, partner shout-outs, or product highlights during the session to keep your social feeds active while the event runs.

📬 Day after. Follow through

  • Thank-you email + SMS. Reach out to everyone who attended (and everyone who didn't). Thank attendees, include a recap or highlight reel, promote any featured products, and share the replay link if available.

  • Repurpose your content. Clip the best moments from your session: product reveals, great audience reactions, behind-the-scenes, and turn them into social posts, Reels, or TikToks. Your live content has a long shelf life.

  • Review your analytics. Check your Terrific dashboard to see peak viewership, engagement, and sales data. Use those insights to refine your next event.
